Something that the Holy Spirit is awakening in the Church is the awareness of the kind of spiritual warfare that believers engage in. All over the world there seems to be an emphasis on spiritual warfare. As a result of this, Christians are assuming a militant position in their spiritual lives. We've realized that "…we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12).
We can truly say that the Church has moved from a defensive position, to an offensive position. There has been a change in the spiritual world, which has been received by Christians and churches that desire to move with God and conquer everything that rightfully belongs to us by faith. The church of this new century will be a Church that will possess the gates of its enemies and will cast down the accuser of the brethren.
The purpose of this book isn't to discuss the battle that we will fight against Satan and his demons in the heavenly realms. It is purposed to deal with the battle that is fought every minute in the minds and consciousness of individuals. This book was birthed in me as a result of my observations in this area and by some words that the Holy Spirit impressed in my spirit. As we experienced a period of warfare and spiritual conflict in the church that I pastor; I heard the following words in my spirit: "My people are losing the battle in their war against their enemies in the heavenly realms, because they still haven't won the battle in their minds." It was then that I realized that Believers can not win the battle in the heavenly realm until they destroy and conquer the strongholds that Satan has erected in their own minds.
We're living in a day in which a deadly battle for the soul of humanity is being fought. According to the Scriptures and to what we're seeing occur in society, we conclude that we're living in the last days of the history of the human race. Satan knows that the time when he and his fallen angels will be cast eternally into the lake of fire is near, so in the mean time he wants to deceive and control as many people as he can. One of his greatest tactics is to control the minds of people, so they can become his spiritual robots and thus do his will. But, I have good news for you; God has made provision for you to win this war with the spiritual weapons he has provided for us in Christ. Prepare for victory in the name of Jesus.
